Race Report: Snetterton

Race report from Snetterton:

Cracking weekend with the CSCC at Snett for 2x BMW Championship races, and a 40 minute race in the Slicks Series to end the weekend.

BMWs: we took pole with a 1:55.89, which is a PB for us at Snetterton (and somebody has since informed us that it’s the fastest lap here an S54-engined M3 has ever done ????‍♂️). Very happy with that, and with the progress on the brakes which are now working as we’ve always wanted.

Race one was a win, but not a comfortable one. We knew we’d be vulnerable lap 1 as we were running harder compound tyres, and so it proved. Niall Bradley in the black and green NB47 Racing E46 and Reece Jones in the big E92 both slipped through, but we were back up to P2 after Reece clipped the tyre stack at turn 5 and retired. We were on Niall’s bumper after we finally fired up the tyres, but he had a minor braking issue at T4 that let us slip through with a few minutes to go. Bit sad we didn’t get a scrap at the end, but still a good win. ????

Race two was a lights to flag win, relatively untroubled after more braking issues for Niall meant he didn’t have the pace to fight us. ????

Slicks: class pole and P3 overall was a great effort in qualy. But the race was hard work as we had a 20s penalty to overcome after the win at Donington earlier this year, and the tyres were absolutely knackered. Ended up P5 overall, P2 in class. Still a solid effort though. ????

Amazing weekend, we cannot wait for Oulton in early August.
